FAQ's

What is PURELITE, and what does the certification actually mean?

PURELITE certifies two things about a product: that it contains nothing on the current WADA Prohibited List, and that its active ingredients match the label at the stated dose. Both checks are required for the mark, neither is offered on its own.

Does PURELITE run the testing itself?

No. Testing is carried out by UK laboratories holding MHRA GMP compliance and UKAS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation. PURELITE verifies against those results, it doesn't self-test and doesn't self-certify.

How is PURELITE different from other supplement certification schemes?

Most established schemes test for what shouldn't be in a product, banned and prohibited substances. PURELITE does that and verifies what should be in it, active-ingredient testing against the label claim. A product can pass a banned-substance check and still be under-dosed or missing an ingredient entirely, that's the gap this closes.

Is every batch tested, or just the first one at launch?

Every batch. A batch is defined by mixing run, not by order size or how long a product has held the mark. Certification isn't a one-time check that then relies on trust.

What's actually on a PURELITE certificate?

The measured amount of each tested active against the brand's stated claim for that specific batch, and confirmation of the banned-substance screen against the current WADA list. It's the finding, not a summary pass or fail.

Can I see the result myself, or only the brand?

Certified brands can give their own customers full, direct access to the certificate. What PURELITE verifies, the brand can show you directly.

How do I know a certificate I'm looking at is current, and not from an old batch?

Every product carries a batch number on its packaging. That number matches the batch number on the certificate, so you're checking the same batch you're holding, not a certificate from an earlier run.

Does PURELITE have any stake in whether a product passes?

No. The testing fee is the same whether a product passes or fails, and the standard applies equally either way. PURELITE has no commercial interest in the outcome of a test.

What happens if a product doesn't pass?

PURELITE works with the brand to trace where in the supply chain the result occurred, whether that's a banned substance entering through a raw material or supplier, or an active ingredient falling outside its stated dose. This isn't treated as a penalty. The standard exists to get more products independently verified, so a result that identifies a problem and gets it fixed is the standard working as intended, not a failure of the relationship.
